Most women either love or hate to shop for special occasions.

They love it when they find the right outfit or dress , but hate the prospect of how many shops they have to visit before they find the perfect attire !

Wedding Guest Etiquette - Choosing the Right Attire or Outfit

While we may love shopping - it can be hard to know what to wear to a wedding.

There are some places where you can find a few ideas on what it is appropriate to wear :-

• check the invitation, it may mention the style of dress

The good news is that, unless you are part of the wedding party itself or it's a real society wedding, you probably don't need to wear a hat !

As for style, this is an occasion where it's probably more acceptable to wear classic or simple styles, rather than the "get you noticed" fashions seen at places such as the Ascot races .

Otherwise, dresses are usually called for - unless you prefer jacket and skirt suit outfits, which are also perfectly acceptable.

It's a commonly understood rule that you don't wear white.

If you already have a favorite cocktail style dress - then dress it up with a little bolero jacket and fascinator for a real style statement.

Womens Plus Size Formals

Few women have anything in their wardrobe that is perfect for going to a wedding.   So, if you're wondering what to wear and haven't got anything in your wardrobe, you're not alone!

With purses tight in the current financial climate, spending a little extra time and browsing the clearance lines of big stores might help you find designer outfits that are relatively inexpensive. 

Also, eBay offers a great way of finding cheap bargains - if you can restrain your bidding sufficiently!

For a summer or beach wedding I reckon a simple skirt and top worn with some killer heels.

If you are enjoy wearing dresses, wear something feminine and floaty, add a wrap or shrug for the evening.

Team with pretty accessories to dress up a simple outfit, elegant sandals, jewelry and a clutch bag.

Don't forget to pop some tissues and confetti in your bag - so that you're ready for anything on their special day !

Expectant Moms

Most maternity stores will offer a range of formal plus size maternity dresses for special occasions. 

Though people will usually understand if you choose to wear less formal (more comfortable) footwear in the final months of pregancy.

Semi-Formal & Informal Wear

If you've been invited to the after-wedding party event - whether it's a dance ,disco or reception - the invitation will probably give some idea of the style of dress expected.
